The grounding area was approximated using a transect line, and a Rapid Underwater Resource Assessment was conducted. The damaged area was approximately 137 square meters, and had an excellent (~60%) hard coral cover, comprised mostly of massive slow-growing corals. Rell & Renn admitted to being the responsible party, and were willing to pay the fines imposed by the Protected Area Management Board (PAMB) of Sarangani Bay Protected Seascape (SBPS).
